How to Deploy an OpenClaw AI Assistant in 5 Minutes with ClawNest
Deploy Your First AI Assistant in 5 Minutes
Getting an OpenClaw AI assistant running usually involves setting up servers, installing dependencies, and configuring networking. With ClawNest, you skip all of that. Here's how to go from zero to a running AI assistant in about 5 minutes.
Prerequisites
Before you start, you'll need:
- An email address — for your ClawNest account
- An API key from an LLM provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter)
That's it. No server, no Docker, no SSH keys.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Head to dash.clawnest.ai and sign up. The free trial gives you 3 days of full access with one AI assistant — no credit card required.
Step 2: Get Your API Key
If you don't have an API key yet:
- Go to your preferred provider's website (e.g., platform.openai.com)
- Create a new API key
- Copy it to your clipboard
ClawNest uses BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) — you pay providers directly at their rates. We add zero markup on AI tokens.
Step 3: Create a New AI Assistant
From the ClawNest dashboard:
- Click "New AI Assistant"
- Give your AI assistant a name
- Paste your API key
- Select your preferred AI model
Step 4: Configure Your AI Assistant
Use the visual editor to set up your AI assistant:
- Personality — define how your AI assistant should behave and respond
- Skills — enable plugins like web search, file handling, or code execution
- Rules — set boundaries and safety guardrails
No coding required. Everything is configured through the dashboard UI.
Step 5: Deploy
Click "Deploy" and your AI assistant goes live. It's now running 24/7 on ClawNest cloud infrastructure with:
- Automatic backups
- GUI access for further configuration
- Status monitoring from the dashboard
What's Next?
Once your AI assistant is running, you can:
- Fine-tune its personality through the GUI interface
- Add more skills to expand its capabilities
- Monitor usage from the dashboard
- Add more AI assistants if you need them (from €8/mo each as an add-on)
Troubleshooting
API Key Not Working
Make sure your API key is active and has sufficient credits with your provider. You can test the connection from the ClawNest dashboard.
AI Assistant Not Responding
Check the AI assistant status in your dashboard. If it shows as offline, try redeploying. For persistent issues, reach out on our Discord.
